The task of covering the opening of the Academy for Innovation and Research at Tremough was the latest in a series of challenging briefs Three S Films has come to specialise in. We’d been asked to document the day, produce a finished piece that promoted the centre to both the academic and business communities, and fold in individual moments from all the relevant stakeholders, all in one three-minute film.
To get the most out of the extraordinary building we brought all our film-making acumen, and toys, to bear. Utilising a 10′ jib, track, dolly, slider and an array of super-fast lenses, we were able to capture some great footage of the day, the setting and those involved. It was also a great pleasure to work on something so important to both the university and the Cornwall business community.
“Three S Films were commissioned by Falmouth to produce a visual story of the OPEN-AIR for Business event for the Academy for Innovation and Research on 17 May 2012. The result is a fantastic visual portrayal of the event – capturing the terrific buzz generated on the day by nearly 400 visitors from Cornwall and as far afield as Germany and Sweden. The film really captures the spirit of the day and demonstrates how AIR will engage with businesses on many levels to help grow prosperity and business success in Cornwall and beyond. Innovation and research is at the heart of what we do (and this has been captured to excellent effect by Three S Films).”
