Thanks to a rudely early start and an unthinkably late finish, this three-minute film was shown at a large event on the evening of the day it was shot. On 28 February, 2012, with just 150 days to go before the start of the Olympic Games, we filmed from every conceivable angle these 25-metre steel Olympic rings as they travelled down the Thames in London. Commissioned by Innovision – a London-based ‘event and brand experience agency’ – on behalf of their client, the Greater London Authority, we were asked to capture the excitement of this spectacular moving installation. Jetting between various of London’s iconic landmarks, we filmed on land and on boat to produce a film that reflects the majesty of this ambitious event.
What they said about us:
“With an extremely tight deadline and the eyes of the world on London, we needed a team that could film, edit and deliver a film documenting the day before the sun set on the ‘Rings on the River.’ Three S Films not only achieved the brief, they also delivered a stunning, exciting film. We are thrilled with the work done by Three S Films in covering this key event in the countdown to the London 2012 Olympics.”
