Mitch Adams – director/producer As the director of Three S Films, Mitch has been the driving force behind a huge variety of projects over the past 10 years. A graduate in Media Production Management, he has turned his hand to feature-length documentaries, promotional and corporate films, children’s programmes and advertisements. As capable behind the camera as he is in the edit bay or the animation studio, Mitch is currently focusing on developing high quality output and running the growing business.
John Adams – executive director and company founder John founded Three S Films in 1979, producing, exhibiting and distributing mainly action sport films. A keen surfer, John made productions celebrating, in particular, surfing, windsurfing and skiing and, in 1987, his film Mountain Surfers was the first British film to document the emergence of snowboarding. The success of Mountain Surfers brought in commissions for films outside the realm of sport and, under John’s careful stewardship, Three S grew from there into the diverse, innovative company it is today.
Henry Davies – creative director As our recently-appointed creative director, Henry brings a fresh new dimension to the films we produce. With a rich and varied professional experience, he is both an award winning writer and director of theatre and film, and highly skilled at concept generation. Drawing on his creative flair, understanding of narrative and knack for maximising audience engagement, Henry’s influence on our work can be felt at all levels.
Ian Jenkin – editor/camera With over 25 years of industry experience, Ian has overseen the filming and editing of more than 150 productions to date. A Three S stalwart, we all look to Ian for his unrivalled understanding of camerawork, lighting, shot selection and the post-production process. A great cameraman and editor, he brings a mark of quality to every production. Moreover, no matter how great the pressure, Ian’s consummate professionalism means he never gets in a flap!
Jake Potter – camera/editor/after effects ‘Jakey boy’ is an extremely passionate filmmaker who first came to us, aged 15, on work experience. From there, he never really left us, continually popping in to borrow kit to make a skate film or a music video for his pals. Now a fully signed-up member of the team, Jake has developed into a very capable cameraman, spending every penny he has on new filmmaking gizmos.
Mike Richter – 3D CGI specialist Mike is a master in the dark art of creating photorealistic computer generated images using the latest 3D technology. His work includes character design, modelling and animation, digital set creation and visual effects. He’s a whizz with new technology, including the exciting world of stereocopic rendering for 3D cinema. Mike is our CG visionary.
Ben Hartley – music and sound specialist A highly capable musician and music producer, with a post graduate diploma in Music Production and Technology, Ben heads up our audio department. Whether creating original music or co-ordinating musical production, he heightens the quality of every production he works on.
Glyn Macey – art and design At the heart of our art department is Glyn – an internationally respected Newlyn-based artist and designer. Glyn creates incredible, inspiring storyboards for our films and we rely on him to bring a unique visual sensibility to our work. We are currently working alongside Glyn on a joint venture with Channel 4.
Michele Bromley – make-up/FX Michele has been in the industry for 20 years, making-up the likes of Dame Helen Mirren and Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. Michele has a recurring post on ITV’s Daybreak, and credits include feature films, shorts, theatre, TV and corporate work.
Adam Gibbard – Stills photography Adam has been working alonside Three S for years now providing fantastic still imagery to complement our projects. With a keen eye for composition he’s a great asset to the team.
