Three S films expertise highlights the excellence of the University of Exeter
Cornwall’s longest-established film and television company, Three S Films, is extending its business beyond the county having recently completed a promotional film for the University of Exeter. The seven minute piece is part of an international campaign to showcase the University as a premier destination to study and teach, with the breath-taking beauty of Exeter and the South West as a backdrop.
The film has been highly praised and is proving to be very popular on YouTube with almost 13,500 hits since posting in late January 2011.
Cornwall-based Three S Films, which has been established for thirty years, provided a full ‘Script to Screen’ service to promote the world-ranking reputation, facilities and unique environment of Exeter University.
Three S Films’ Company Director, Mitch Adams says, “This was a really exciting but equally challenging project. There is so much to promote about the University of Exeter as it ranks in the top 1% of universities internationally. I am delighted with the result, it really does justice to the grandeur of the Victorian campus alongside the sleek, brilliantly equipped 21st century £400m expansion.”Mitch continues, “The project was completed on time and within budget and the final product stands on it’s own as a film of excellence, wit, aspiration and heart. At all times speaking to the target audience but mindful of the bigger picture and this is our philosophy on everything we work on, tailoring the process and finished product to each and every client.”
The promotional video was shot in high definition, with striking cinematography using aerial footage, underwater filming, actors, models, remote locations, night shoots, extreme sports filming and CGI to make the short film emotive, energetic and inspirational.
Three S Films took the lead in liaising and coordinating with multiple agencies to get the shots needed; including Exeter City Council, the MoD, ground breaking research establishments and private businesses across the region.
As narrator Jonathan Dimbleby, internationally respected broadcaster, presenter and writer, brought together the stunning visuals with a commentary that embodies the guiding principle of “energetic gravitas”. The natural choice, Mr Dimbleby also holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Exeter and, living locally, is passionate about the region.
Dr Shaun Curtis, Director of International Exeter says, “Three S Films did a tremendous job for us, understanding and responding to our requirement for an extremely high quality film. They managed the whole process and were very professional. We are delighted with the end result which adds a unique approach to our international marketing campaign.”
Following the success of this work and with an expanding client list, Three S Films is planning to open a second office in the Exeter area later this year and will be looking to take on more clients in the area who are looking for promotional video completed to the highest standards.
